Abstract

Methods for evaluation of students’ attitudes toward types of patients and types of employment settings are of critical concern to physical therapy educators and clinical practitioners. The following is a preliminary report of a study in progress and presents a method being utilized for evaluation of student attitudes toward a specific physical therapy clinical employment setting and the effect of undergraduate clinical education experiences on these attitudes. The authors recommend similar study in evaluation of these attitudes toward other types of physical therapy clinical education settings. The word attitude, as used in this paper, may be defined as a mental position or feeling with regard to a fact or state.
