Highlights
Objective: to study the clinical picture of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), the association of its manifestations with the degree of disability in the real practice of a rheumatologist in Russia
The diagnosis of the disease was verified at the Research Institute of Rheumatology, Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, according to the 1984 modified New York criteria and pelvic survey X-ray films were assessed by two independent experts in a blind fashion
About half (47%) of the patients had peripheral arthritis and 56% had clinical signs of coxitis
Summary
Objective: to study the clinical picture of ankylosing spondylitis (AS), the association of its manifestations with the degree of disability in the real practice of a rheumatologist in Russia. В исследовании участвовали ревматологи 29 клинических центров из 24 городов России: Екатеринбург (2 центра), Великий Новгород, Владивосток, Воронеж, Иркутск, Казань, Кемерово, Красноярск, Краснодар, Москва (3 центра) и Московская область, Нижний Новгород, Оренбург, Пермь, Пенза, Ростов-на-Дону, Самара, Санкт-Петербург (2 центра), Сургут, Тула, Тюмень, Ульяновск, Уфа, Хабаровск, Ярославль. В структуре инвалидности (n=170) преобладали больные с II и III группой – 76 (23%) и 90 (27%) соответственно, I группу инвалидности имели лишь 4 (1,2%) больных, при этом достоверных различий между мужчинами и женщинами не выявлено
