Abstract

In this article, we present a clinical decision support system (CDSS) with the adoption of telemedicine for the primary health centers/satellite clinics of ROP hospitals in the Sultanate of Oman to support coronavirus patients. We use ontology to represent domain knowledge. Biomedical researchers use ontologies for sharing of data, integration, and its reuse. The clinical guidelines are represented using Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL). CDSS includes a symptom checker for the public as a self-assessment tool. Appropriate user interfaces are provided as part of the CDSS for nursing staff, doctors, and other laboratory staff. System provides suitable alerts and treatment suggestions to the doctor based on the condition of the patient. WebRTC is used to implement the teleconferencing interface, which can be utilized by the doctors in the primary health centers to call expert physicians in the main hospital for further discussions.
