Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of conjunctival flap surgery on refractory corneal ulcer.Methods A retrospective analysis was done on the 19 cases of refractory corneal ulcer who underwent conjunctival flap surgery between January 2010 and February 2013 in Meizhou people's hospital.Results The operation was successfully completed for all of the 19 patients,17 cases were cured after one time of surgery and 1 case was cured after two times of surgery,1 case was failed after several times of conjunctival flap surgery; conjunctival flap in 18 cases was thinning,became transparent gradually,the number of blood vessels reduced and fused together with cornea three months after surgery.Visual acuity of 17 cases improved in different degrees.Conclusions Conjunctival flap surgery has the advantages of simple operation,less complications,without amniotic membrane or corneal material limitations,and it can not only promote the healing of ulcer,save the eye,but also restore the vision partially,and it has a good basis for further corneal transplantation.
