Abstract

Question: A 34-year-old woman with sickle trait presented with 2 weeks of abdominal pain and diarrhea. Her pain was initially located in the epigastrium, slightly worse after meals, and then became diffuse postprandial abdominal pain. The pain was associated with postprandial watery diarrhea. She had no other significant medical history and was taking no medications. She denied any illicit substances or significant amount of alcohol use.
