Abstract

The article presents a clinical case of coronavirus disease in a child, combined in time with infectious mononucleosis. Today there is a growing tendency in the prevalence of diseases caused by herpes viruses. At the same time there is an increase in the incidence of infectious mononucleosis. The level of Epstein-Barr virus infection among the adult population of Ukraine has reached almost 100%, and more than 50% among the children. The number of children confirmed by COVID-19 is growing with each passing wave, and coronavirus disease is dangerous for young children with a high probability of complications and hospitalizations. The first manifestations of the disease were not typical: fever, nausea, periorbital edema. A week later, typical mononucleosis complaints of sore throat, "nasality", raids on the tonsils and enlargement of the tonsils appeared. Additional examinations revealed an increase in ALT and AST, an increase in the liver. The diagnosis was made on the basis of detecting an increase in the level of specific immunoglobulins to SARS-Cov-2 and EBV.
