Abstract

This work presents a clinical case of ambulatory surgical treatment of patient with the diagnosis of Fibrous dysplasia with cystic transformation in the area of the right lower jaw bone (K10.83). Neoplasms of the jaw bones are of particular interest from the morphological point of view. The bone tissue of the alveolar ridge in the child during the period of growth and the final cytodifferentiation undergoes the number of changes that affect the histological structure of tumors and tumor-like conditions. All pathological processes have a similar clinical course, the absence of symptomatic complaints, final diagnosis is confirmed only after a histological examination. The article describes the case of treatment of a pediatric patient, in which, based on the main and additional (pre-surgical) methods of investigation, the following diagnosis was made: 4.6. - Chronic granulomatous periodontitis (K04.5). The odontogenic radicular cyst of the right lower jaw bone (K04.8), after carrying out histological examination of the surgical material, a rare form of fibrous dysplasia with cystic transformation of cell elements was revealed. The surgical treatment consisted in removal of the tumor using “Piezon Master 600” ultrasound system, autologous graft and osteoplastic material. After 6 months, the restoration of cortical plates and spongy substance of the alveolar ridge was roentgenologically confirmed.
