Abstract
Abstract Analysis of indicator dilution curves as gamma functions allows for rapid calculation of cardiac output and mean transit time by means of a simple nomogram. Comparison of this method with the standard semilogarithmic replot and numerical integration method shows excellent correlation. The application of this method to quantitative estimation of left to right intravascular shunts is demonstrated.
