Abstract

Under proper conditions, hypnosis has its uses in medical practice. With hypnosis, the practitioner can cause patients to relax, reassure them, relieve anxiety, dispel fear, remove symptoms, and ease the way for simple psychotherapy. Contrary to general belief, the physician can learn hypnosis fairly easily and use it effectively in the office without consuming too much time.
