Abstract
Objective To compare the efficacy of transurethral double-wavelength laser resection of bladder tumors and traditional transurethral resection of bladder tumors (TURBt) in the treatment of non-muscule invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC), and to investigate its clinical value. Methods The clinical data of 90 patients with bladder tumor admitted to Jiangmen Central Hospital from May 2016 to October 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 45 cases underwent TURBt (TURBt group) and 45 cases underwent transurethral double-wavelength laser bladder tumor resection ( duble-wavelength laser group). The general data, including age, gender, number of tumors, maximum diameter of tumors, basal/pedicle diameters, distance from ureteral orifice, location of tumors, staging and grading of tumors were compared between the two groups. The number of patients who needed general anesthesia, obturator nerve reflex, clear bladder wall, continuous bladder irrigation, absence of pathological muscular layer and recurrence of tumors were observed and compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in general data between the two groups (P>0.05). Compared with TURBt group, the number of patients needed general anesthesia in double-wavelength laser group was less (84.4% vs. 8.9%, P 0.05). Conclusions The bladder tumor resection by dual-wavelength laser system are safe and effective, with less requirement of general anesthesia, and it maybe have better diagnostic value and greater treatment effects than TURBt. So it has great significance in treatment of bladder tumor with bladder preserved. Key words: Dual-wavelength laser system; Transurethral resection of bladder tumors; Bladder tumor
