Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of the clinical application of digital X-ray radiography (DR) in the ascending venography of the lower extremities. Methods The data of 1267 cases with chronic venous insufficiency of lower extremities who were treated by ascending venography during June 2013 to June 2015 were reviewed. Lower extremity deep vein segment was observed by still images and pelvic iliac vein conditions were observed by dynamic and continuous images. Based on the venogram, venous valve insufficiency and iliac vein stenosis were diagnosed. Results Venography was successfully performed on 1262 cases. Of them, 5 cases were failure to puncture and then diverted to other examinations. According to the study, primary deep venous valve insufficiency was found in 984 limbs, saphenofemoral venous valve insufficiency in 641, perforating venous insufficiency in 468, simple varicose veins in 13, left iliac vein compression syndrome in 139, post-thrombotic syndrome in 58, deep venous thrombosis in 16 and Klipple-Trenaunay syndrome in 3. Conclusion With the advantages of convenience, safety, accuracy and economy, the venography with DR in lower extremities can be used as an important method for the diagnosis of chronic venous diseases, especially suitable for primary hospital.
