Abstract

Objective To study and assess the clinical application value of 16-slices spiral CT with 3D reconstruction for diagnosing bone and joint trauma. Methods 126 patients with bone and joint trauma were examined with 16-slice spiral CT.The volume rendering (VR) and multiple planner reconstruction (MPR) were used after treatment technology for reconstruction, and compared with digital radiography. Results For some X-ray plain films which are difficult for determining the fracture, the 3D CT can clear display,X-ray diagnosis of fractures of the rate of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis rate reaches to 46.8%; MPR and VR 3D reconstruction images can clearly show the details of fracture, and can more clearly show a fracture of the spatial relationship. Conclusions 16-slices spiral CT with 3D reconstruction in diagnosis of traumatic fractures has the absolute advantage, can make up for the lack of X-ray plain film, decrease the misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, and provide more extensive image information for clinic. Key words: Joint bone fracture; Three dimensional reconstruction; 16-slices spiral CT
