Abstract

Objective To present some reference for accurate diagnosis and treatment of orbital space-occupying lesions in clinic,and to analyze the pathological classification and evaluate the frequencies of various types of orbital space-occupying lesions.Methods In this retrospective case series,the medical records of 165 patients referred to Tianjin first center hospital for orbital space-occupying lesions between November 2009 and 2012 were reviewed.Results Benign tumors were found in 98 of 165 eyes (59.39%),the leading 3 Benign tumors were cavernous hemangioma,21 (21.43%); inflammatory pseudotumor,19 (19.39%); dermoid cyst,16 (16.33%); There were 67 (40.16%) malignant tumors.The leading 3 malignant tumors were Lymphoma,19 (28.36%); Adenoid cystic carcinoma,11 (16.42%); squamous cell carcinoma,6 (8.96%).There were 48 tumors in the muscle cone and 117 out of the muscle cone.Conclusions The kinds of primary orbital tumors are enormous.Cavemous hemangioma is the most common disease in the benign orbital tumors and Lymphoma in malignant orbital tumors.
