Abstract

Death by suicide is the second leading cause of death in the United States among adolescents and young adults. The complexity of interacting risk factors makes prediction of suicide death little better than chance. This project seeks to simplify this picture by evaluating clinical and genetic factors from specific groups: young individuals who died from suicide, with and without a history of opioid or other substance abuse.
