Abstract

Objective To explore the clinical characteristic, diagnosis and treatment regimens of primary small intestinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Methods Data of 58 small intestinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma patients treated from January,1999 to December,2009 was collected and analyzed. Results Abdominal pain is the common symptom of primary small intestinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma. All the patients were stage I and stage Ⅱ.The distal ileum and ileocecal junction are the most predilection site. The overall 5-year survival rate is 52.8%,and it is 62.5% and 46.7% for I-stage and Ⅱ-stage patients respectively with significant statistics difference(P=0.023). The 5-year survival is 27.2% for patients receiving operation alone, and 58.6%for patients receiving operation plus chemotherapy and or radiotherapy, which has significant statistics difference(P=0.004).Conclusions Treatment of primary small intestinal non-Hodgkin lymphoma should prefer the therapy based on surgery with combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
