Abstract

Objectives To observe the clinical effect and safety of Paishi granules with extrocorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL)in the treatment of ureteral calculi. Methods 645 patients with ureteraI calculi after ESWL in our hospital from July 2014 to June 2015 were randomly divided into treatment group (n=318) and control group (n=327). Two groups of patients were given lots of water, antispasmodic, analgesic and hemostatic treatment. The patients in the treatment group took orally Paishi granules while the patients in the control group took nothing more. The safety, exclusion rate and time of the ureteral calculi, hematuria time and the rate of using analgesics were observed. Results The exclusion rate of the ureteral calculi in two groups was 93.7%(treatment group) and 80.1% (control group), respectively. The exclusion time of the treatment group and the control group was(5.33±4.16)dand (7.29±4.94)d, respectively , the hematuria time of two groups were(6.54±2.46)d and(8.16±2.71)d, and the usage rate of analgesics was 32.7% and 45.3%, respectively. There were all significant difference between two groups(P<0.05). Conclusions Paishi granules combined with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy can significantly improve the exclusion rates of ureteral calculi after ESWL, reduces the expulsion time of ureteral calculi, hematuria and the usage rate of potent analgesic, it is worthy of clinical promotion. Key words: Ureteral Calculi; Lithotripsy; CHINESE PATENT DRUGS
