Abstract

Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes of ovarian torsion in pregnant women after in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET). Methods The clinical data of pregnant women with ovarian torsion after IVF-ET in our hospital from January 2014 to December 2016 was retrospectively analyzed. Data collecting included onset / treatment time of ovarian torsion, ovary volume, torsion degree, gestational weeks, and pregnancy outcomes. Results 4 cases were collected, 3 cased were intervened by laparotomy and 1 case was treated with ipsilateral salpingectomy. 3 cases continued the pregnancy after intervention; 1 case was sent to hospital at 30 hours after the onset of ovarian torsion caused by embryonic diapause. Conclusions Ovarian torsion is an emergency complication in pregnant women after IVF-ET. Timely surgery intervention can benefit the pregnancy outcomes.
