Abstract
Objective To summarize the clinical diagnosis,treatment and prognosis of different types of sublingual gland cyst.Methods The clinical data of 225 cases of sublingual gland cyst from Feb,2001 to May,2011 were retrospectively analyzed.Results Out of the 225 cases,simple cyst accounted for 66.7％,plunge ranula for 21.8％ and hybrid cyst accounted for 11.5％,the accuracy rate of diagnosis was 96.9％.Relapse rate was 0.4％.Conclusions Puncture examinations are essential in the diagnosis of simple cyst and hybrid cyst.Color Doppler,puncture examination and symptom are essential in the diagnosis of plunge ranula.The key to successful management for sublingual gland cyst is the excision of related sublingual gland,with the intra oral approach.
