Abstract

Prevention of suicidal behavior is an essential direction at the stage of inpatient treatment. The study of the features of suicidal genesis within certain nosological categories makes it possible to determine the clinical factors of suicidal risk. A retrospective study of hospital suicidal acts and a comprehensive clinical and psychopathological study of patients with suicidal attempts during hospitalization and in the early stages after discharge were carried out. The Montgomery-Åsberg Depression Rating Scale (MADRS) and the Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSS) were used. In addition, Fisher's exact test and Kruskal-Wallis test with Dunn's Multiple Comparison post hoc test were used. The paper analyzed the ratio of indicators on the Scale for Suicidal Ideation (SSI) and the severity of depression with the main variants of the leading syndrome at the time of committing suicidal acts. The periods of increased suicidal risk during hospitalization were considered in relation to the type of leading syndrome in mental status. The data obtained can be used to assess suicidal risk during treatment in a psychiatric hospital and in the early stages after discharge.
