Abstract

This paper aims to critically explore and examine why, how and to what extent climate change and energy management is used as a business opportunity in the global market. With the case of the UK and Germany, the author argues that the integrating climate change and energy issues with business management may prove sustainable and environmentally sound for the firm. The implication is that climate change management can be a powerful instrument for addressing the integration of current global issues into the economic success of business, when business concerns these issues through corporate social responsibility (CSR) lense as an opportunity and legitimacy in the international market. To encourage business involvement and make it a real market, it is argued that the international level of cooperation and incentive policy can be the major driving force and contribution.KeywordsCorporate Social ResponsibilityEnergy ManagementGlobal Reporting InitiativeEmission Trading SchemeClimate Change IssueThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
