Abstract

The association of nonejection systolic clicks and mitral or tricuspid valve prolapse has been clearly established.1 Unusual sounding clicks or whoops have also been described in subjects with left-sided pneumothorax.2 These extracardiac transients are usually multiple, occur throughout the entire cardiac cycle,3 and vary with the respiratory phase and position. Other features of pneumothorax are clinically apparent, thereby aiding in proper diagnosis.4
