Abstract

Ectrodactyly–ectodermic dysplasia–cleft lip/palate syndrome is a rare congenital anomaly of inherited origin and varying clinical features. It includes clefting in hands and feet, cleft lip and palate, and defects in ectodermic derived tissues (skin, hair, nails). Defects in other locations are less frequent.Management of this type of patient is difficult, and there have been few reports in the medical literature about their treatment, whether from the orthopaedic or the surgical point of view. The purpose of this communication is to review current knowledge of this syndrome, and to describe two new cases treated conservatively in our clinic.
