Abstract

Approaches for clearance of flight control laws for time varying pilot inputs, using optimisation methods are presented. These approaches are based on simulation of nonlinear aircraft models, parameterisation of input pilot signals and solving the resulting nonlinear optimisation problem. The purpose is to find the pilot signals that result in the worst possible behavior of the aircraft. The studied pilot signals are lower order piecewise polynomials, and the resulting parameter set is a real valued finite dimensional set on which global and local optimisation methods are studied.
