Abstract

At times, some patients have expressed a comfort difference between clear and tinted soft contact lenses. This study was designed to explore whether there is a clinically significant difference in the comfort of the lenses. Clear and opaque soft contact lenses were presented to subjects in single-blind trials. At the time, comfort was rated by the patients and a preferred lens was chosen. The results show a statistically significant difference in comfort between the ranking of the clear and opaque lenses and the preferred lens chosen. Although there is a statistically significant difference between the lenses' comfort, the difference may not be clinically significant.
