“The Sticky Surgical Floor: An Analysis of Publications by Women Authors in Vascular Surgery Journals,” by Pendleton et al,1 explores the question of whether women are publishing as both first and last authors in our most respected journals. They tackle this question to evaluate whether the sticky floor, which is the difficulty to professionally progress and ascend, applies to this situation.
