Abstract

The correct identity of the ergot strains Claviceps fusiformis PRL 1980 (ATCC 26245), C. fusiformis 129 and 59, and Pepty 695/ch-I, formerly described as Claviceps purpurea, was proven by means of RAPD, genomic DNA restriction patterns as well as by a literature search about the strain origin.
