Abstract

The aim of the study was to present the classification of rural areas in Poland in terms of the level of human capital in 2016. The level of human capital has been evaluated using composite index, to the construction of which six partial indicators were used. The highest level of human capital in rural areas was in voivodeships: Mazovia, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland, Pomerania, and Lower Silesia. In turn, the lowest level of human capital in rural areas was marked by the following voivodeships: Lublin, Lubusz, Podlachia, Opole, Warmia-Masuria and West-Pomerania.
