Abstract

Partial epilepsy is the result of an irregular and abnormal activity in the brain. Although it is principally located in the brain, affecting both the movement and the memory, the cardiac function can also be affected before, during and after the seizure. Consequently, the effect of the electric heart activity dysfunction can lead to patient mortality with epilepsy. The aim of this work is to extract features using ElectroCardioGram (ECG) in order to understand the relationship between irregular activity in the brain and the autonomic system. Afterwards, these features will be used to classify the electrocardiogram signals as correlated to normal or epileptic crisis.
