Abstract

Jazan is considered one of the most important emirates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Its Architectural heritage is divers due to its wide spread. The heritage buildings in particular represent a huge cultural and heritage wealth and must be preserved by documentation, as the Kingdom is witnessing rapid development and a marked increase in the rates of civil and urban growth, and emerged architectural patterns that are far from their environment. This led to the abandonment of its Architectural heritage, which stems from its specificity, its originality, and is characterized largely by the development of the local characteristics. This represents the need to study and explore the urban heritage in the region, to achieve the local identity of Jazan and to benefit as much as possible from the remaining heritage experiences. In this research, several heritage buildings and urban in Jazan are being categorized and structured, because this type of building and urban fabric gives us a broad and comprehensive idea of how social, economic and political life were pursued. This research is concurrent with interest on the official and popular level towards the case of Jazan in general and the state of the historical region in particular.
