Abstract

The striking resemblance between the velocity vector field of classical fluid mechanics and the statistical vector potential in anyonic quantum mechanics is utilized to obtain many of the equations of anyon physics by analogy. In particular, the energy-density functional leading to the Liouville equation is derived.
