Abstract

A more realistic calculation of electroproduction of nucleon resonances is performed within the framework of a previously developed model of oscillations of the meson field in the nucleon. The nucleon source and the ground-state meson field are determined from the elastic form factors, and the excitations of the meson field are described by continuum wave functions. The absolute cross sections thus obtained are in satisfactory agreement with the data on excitation of the higher resonances.
