Abstract

The classical trajectory method is used to study the dynamics of 3D Hydrogen molecular ion $${\rm H}_{2}^{+}$$ interacting with intense laser fields. In the 3D classical model, a three-body Hamiltonian with one-dimensional nuclear motion restricted to the direction of the laser field is considered. The motion of electron and nucleus is described by the classical Hamiltonian canonical equations. The probabilities of ionization, dissociation and Coulomb explosion as functions of time are calculated and the average distances from electron to the mass-center for various laser parameters are implemented by symplectic method. The dynamics of $${\rm H}_{2}^{+}$$ in two-color laser fields are also investigated. We compare our results with the corresponding quantum-mechanical calculations and find they produce similar qualitative features in many cases.
