Abstract
Research on supply chain payment and detailed quantitative cash flow modeling requires detailed data concerning specialist contractors and suppliers to support implementation efforts. Supporting this need, survey data was gathered from 118 general contractors in Taiwan. Complementing previous research, the survey data quantifies the range of contractor typical time lags, components, and frequency of payments to specialists and suppliers. While the statistical analysis of the data demonstrates that the pattern of contractor supply chain payment conditions to specialist contractors is significantly influenced by the sector variable (public vs. private), supplier related patterns are not influenced by the sector variable. Further analysis demonstrates that the variables of contractor supply chain payment conditions (time lags, components, and frequency) considerably interact with one another under certain circumstances. Nonetheless, little evidence supports the existence of a trade-off relationship between these variables in the event of interaction.
