Abstract

Abstract A study to determine the cladding circumferential temperature profiles in LMFBR fuel and blanket assemblies is presented. Corresponding hot spot factors were calculated as a function of pitch-diameter ratio, rod diameter and subchannel coolant velocity for ‘bare’ and wire-wrapped rods using the FATHOM-II computer program. A brief description of the FATHOM-II analysis and a comparison of the results with experimental and other analytical data are also presented.
