Abstract
The alloxan-diabetic rat is characterized by (1) decreased citrate synthase (citrogenase) activity of the liver; (2) a two- to threefold increase in the citrate content of the tissues and (3) a decreased rate of citrate oxidation by the muscle (but not liver). The possible relationship of these changes is discussed.
