Abstract
To the Editor: We read with interest the comment by Waseem Hassan1 regarding our previous work on bibliometrics and citation indicators in the dermatology literature. As affirmed by Hassan, citation indicators such as the h-index attempt to assess the “influence” of an author based on their cumulative academic productivity and impact, which is often represented by the number of publications and citations, respectively.
