Abstract
Cis-diaminedichloroplatinium (cisplatin, CDDP) is used mainly in the treatment of various cancers, such as testicular cancer or leukemia. It is well known that exposure to cisplatin results in impair of spermatogenesis. However, little is known about the signal mechanisms involved in CDDP regulation of Sertoli cell (SC) gene expression, which subsequently influences developing germ cells and spermatogenesis. The aim of present study was to determine how CDDP regulates SC paracrine/autocrine activities and subsequently influences developing germ cells and spermatogenesis.
