Abstract

The techniques in cataract surgery have evolved to the present with the femtosecond laser, used to make precise corneal incisions, anterior capsulotomy, fragmentation of the nucleus, and correction of low grade corneal astigmatism by arcuate incisions. Best results have been observed with the laser with respect to reproducibility, and accuracy of each procedure; achieving growing acceptance worldwide. So it is necessary to establish the main points of this technique to make it more reproducible, highlight the differences in relation to conventional phacoemulsification technique and shorten the learning curve that this may represent.
