Abstract

A sample of 135 American expatriate upper middle management personnel were asked to make ratings regarding the importance of 12 variables they considered when they decided to accept their current overseas assignment. A factor analysis identified different dimensions underlying the choice processes between the experienced and inexperienced expatriate managers.
