Abstract

Extracorporal perfusion of pig kidneys in dog circulation demonstrated tissue alterations marked by rapid decrease of blood flow. The development of circulatory stop could be delayed by gravity perfusion and adding of different drugs. Heparin prolonged perfusion time considerably. By administration of xantinol-nicotinate circulation time could be prolonged to 4 h. Angiographic and histological examinations demonstrated symptoms of a sero-fibrinous, later hemorrhagic inflammation as seen in hyperacute rejection of allogenous or xenogenous grafts.
