Abstract
The two enantiomeric 2 a-methyl-adamantan-4-one have been synthesized by different methods. The contributions to the Cotton effect of an axial Me group in β-position of a cyclohexanone is practically zero, though a pronounced fine structure is found in unpolar solvents.
