Abstract

In this paper, the differences between circular synthetic aperture radar (CSAR) and traditional linear synthetic aperture radar are briefly analyzed with mathematical model of CSAR introduced. To verify the conclusion that CSAR can get much higher resolution than traditional linear SAR can, even with the same radar parameters, we present an approximation method using linear spotlight SAR to simulate CSAR and show the simulation results. How to fuse spectrums of all subapertures is described in detail.
