Abstract

This paper presents a CPW fed printed circular ring monopole antenna. The antenna covers Ultra Wideband (UWB) (i.e. 3.1GHz-10.6GHz) as well as Super Wideband (SWB) (beyond 10.6GHz) and can be useful for vast Wireless Applications. Later it is modified with Split Ring Resonator (SRR) placed on the Coplanar Waveguide feed to achieve out Notch Function. The notch frequency can be changed by modifying out the dimensions of the Split Ring Resonator. Here three Notches are shown in the proposed bandwidth range by using single Spilt Ring Resonator. The overall antenna size is 47×50×1.57 mm3 where the proposed prototype is designed and simulated using ANSYS-HFSS. The final designed antenna offers better impedance, wide bandwidth, well directive radiation characteristics along with satisfying gain & efficiency.
