Abstract

A circular polarized Fabry-Perot resonator antenna for dedicated short range communication(DSRC) is presented in this paper, the superstrate of which has the FSS structure with square elements. The antenna is designed to meet the physical layer protocol of Chinese National standard GB/T 20851-2007. The full-wave simulation results obtained by Ansys HFSS show that the proposed Fabry-Perot antenna has the advantage of high gain about 18dB, low side lobe about -16dB, and narrow beam about 20°, performances of which meet the Indices of DSRC. It shows potential application in dedicated short range communication system for its simple structure and high gain, especially in decreasing the adjacent-lane interference in electronic toll system (ETC) which is based on DSRC.
