Abstract

In this paper a small Circular Edge Cut Monopole UWB Antenna for Wireless Communications is presented. The proposed antenna has the dimensions of 30×35 mm2 and provides the UWB Bandwidth from 3.1 to 10.6 GHz. This wide B.W is achieved by partial grounding technique with circular disc, a modified center slit at center of ground plane and the circular shaped cuts at the corners of the patch. The antenna is fed by microstrip transmission line with impedance matching achieved by a stub. The antenna also has a low level of cross polarization and better efficiency throughout the entire UWB range. This confirms the usefulness of this antenna for UWB applications and wireless applications.
