Abstract

The unit-excitation active element pattern method used to solve the mutual coupling of the uniform circular antenna array is proposed in this paper. With the help of this method, the uniform circular antenna array's radiation pattern including the element mutual coupling and platform effect can be efficiently calculated. Two micorstrip circular antenna arrays with different radiation patterns are analyzed by this proposed method. Then the corresponding calculated results are compared with the full-wave simulation results from HFSS, and they agree well.
