Abstract

In order to analyze the performance of a fast linear transformer driver (FLTD) in different states, we develop a circuit model of nonlinear magnetic core. The circuit model contains controllable initial magnetic flux density and time-dependent loss resistance of the magnetic core. Afterward, the core model is added to the integral circuit to simulate the performance of the single stage FLTD; both the simulation and experimental results are given in this paper and the simulation results fit the experimental results very well under different situations. Moreover, this circuit model can be used to analyze the conditions when some faults occurred in the magnetic core.
