Circuit Description of Two Coupled Lossless Waveguide Structures

Abstract

Abstract In Chapter 2 the circuit model for a general waveguide structure supporting a single fundamental mode was derived. The circuit model is based upon the power equivalence and circuit principles. In the present chapter these two principles will be applied to construct the circuit model of two coupled lossless waveguide structures. The extension of the approach for single waveguide structures to two coupled waveguide structures was first presented in [1] The general case of an arbitrary number of coupled lossy or lossless waveguide structures will be discussed in Chapter 4.
