The skin effect in a conductor follows formally from a solution of Maxwell's equations. Visualizing the phenomenon from simple physical arguments is difficult and often misleading. This paper presents a parallel circuit analogy for skin effect which exhibits its essential characteristics as well as the inverse skin effect.
