Abstract
Abstract 24‐hr variations in the content of neurosecretory material “Gomori‐positive”; in the cells of nucleus preopticus were studied in rainbow trout maintained in natural light, complete darkness and continuous artificial light. 24‐hr variations in the content of neurosecretory material “Gomori‐positive”; in the cells of nucleus preopticus were studied in rainbow trout maintained in natural light, complete darkness and continuous artificial light. Brains were taken from trout every six hours during a 24‐hr period and fixed in the Bouin's liquid. Slices were stained with aldehyde fuchsin and the content of the neurosecretory material was determined with a cytophotometer. Statistical significance was calculated with the Student's t‐test. On basis of the obtained results the following was stated: 1. Circadian rhythm in the content of neurosecretory material “Gomori‐positive”; in the cells of nucleus preopticus of rainbow trout. 2.
